UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE, By Telegraph.—Press Assn.- -Copyright. London, Feb. 28In the House of Commons, Sir Robert Home (Minister for Labor), in moving the second reading of the Unemployment Insurance jiili, urged the necessity of getting rid of the dread of unemployment. Sir Robert Home pointed out that the 1011 Act was experimental. It covered 2A million people, of whom 0000 were women. The number was increased by the 1910 extension and would presently be 2jJ millions insured, of whom a million wore women. The present proposals brought up the number to about 12 millions. The scheme would be on a contributory basis and there would be two contributions, one for health and one for unemployment— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
