REPATRIATION COMMITTEE.

NEW PLYMOUTH COMMITTEE. A meeting of the New Plymouth Repatriation Committee was held last evening Present:—Messrs C. H. Weston (chairman). W. J. Chaney, T. Farlong, E. Whittle, T. C. List, H. R. CatLley, F. Hartneil. J. R. Rowlands, R. ,T. Clarke, C. Carter, V. W. Okey, and the secretary (Mr. A. S. Allen). The following were authorised:—Payment of full subsidy for training in carpentering; financial assistance for 13 months whilst training in motor car engineering (two cases); financial assistance for six months whilst training on a farm, recommended by the Wellington CommitteeThe executive's action in granting two loans for furniture was confirmed. The uncimplcfyment register showed there were six requiring work:—Two light work, taxidriving or milking on liinrefi,' boilermaker's laborer, motordriving, and clerk. The following applications for loans were recommended for approval:—£2so for the purchase of a half interest in an electrical business, and £3OO for the purchase of a building nnd joinery plant. Four loans (three f,r £SO and one for £25) for the purchase of furniture were granted. Subsidies for framing in new trades were granted in respect of farm tnt'ning: hairdressing (two), reooiamerged by Waitara Committee; and motor car engineering, recommended by the Eltham Committee.
