ALLEGED THEFTS.
A YOUNG MAN ARRESTED. For some time past burglaries have been reported to the police in New Plymouth, and as the burglar left little clue to work on, the police have had a difficult task in running him to earth Yesterday Constable Wroblenski effected the arrest of a young man, who will be brought before'the Court this morning on a charge of entering Mr. Flanagan's house. Some time ago the residence of Mr. Bartley, electrical engineer, was entered, tind an attempt made to set two of the rooms on fire. A quantity of jewellery was stolen- It is understood that th*e police have recovered a lot of this jewellery and that further charges will be preferred against the young man. The name of the man arrested was / not available last night. It is stated' he is a local man of 24 or 25 years of age and well connected.
