BELL BLOCK FARMERS.
THE DISPOSAL OF PRODUCE. RESOLUTIONS PASSED. At ft meeting of the Bell Block brancn of the New Zealand Farmers' Union a letter was received from the provincial secretary stating it was. anticipated that within the next few months the Government would be asking for the opinion of farmers in respect to the fixing of prices of produce, and asking the branch to give their opinion on the following questions:— (1) Was the branch favorable to the Government fixing the price of farmers' produce; (2) Did the branch favor the sale of the following clusses of produce to the Imperial Government: (a) meat, (b) wool, (c) butter and cheese, (d) any other produce. After some discussion it was decided that this branch answer "No" to all the questions. It was also decided to write to the Dominion secretary protesting against poppy seeds being brought into the Dominion. Other business of the meeting was that the executive be urged to get the free railage on lime extended to a greater distance, and that the Government get Nauru phosphate landed in New Zealand as soon as possible.
