The tenth annual meeting of the ligmont Club was held last evening, Mr. N. J. King presiding over a large attendance. The annual report and balance sheet showed the Club to be in a very prosperous condition. The following officers were elected: — Patron, Mr. R. Masters, M.l\; President, Mr. T. Lawson; Vice-Presidents, Messrs. J. B. Hine, J. W. McMillan, J. Masters, G. H. Wicksteed, J. W. Boon, the Rev. J. W. McKenzie, Eev. Howard, and the Rev. Father Maples; auditor, Mr. Percy Thomson; secretary treasurer, Mr. Sidney Ward; committee, Messrs. Peattic, Ayhvard, Petrie, Foley, and Bills. It was decided to increase the secretary's honorarium to „£SO per annum. Messrs C. H. Fox, J. Edmondston, C. H. Penn and 0. H. Rogers were elected honorary members. Several of the members handed in their debentures to the club, the amount realised in this way being in the vicinity of £l5O. It was decided to elect Messrs. N. J. King, retiring President, and H. Wilson, retiring auditor (both of whom are leaving the district) as honorary life members of the Club. Mr. R. Masters, M.P., and several other members paid a tribute to the valued services rendered by these gentlemen to the Club ever since its inception. The meeting agreed to hold a farewell social to Messrs King and Wilson on Thursday, March 4th. Mr. R. Masters, M.P., drew special attention to the value of the debating society in connection with the Club, and urged the members to form a strong society this year. On the motion of Mr. C. D.
