Amory (Under-Secretary for the Colonies) will entertain the Prince of Wale 3 at lunch on March 2, providing an opportunity for the discission of Australian and New Zealand matters with Mr. Fisher, Sir Thomas Mackenzie and the Agents-General." THE RACING CONTROVERSY. •■ . ■ Christchurch, Last Night. /he Mayor received the following telegram to-day from Sir Francis Bell: "I see no reason to alter the view expressed in nry telegram of Friday, in which I made • it clear there was not yet an absolute decision against a second day's racing, but that the Government would not agree to substitute trotting for gallops at Christchurch if there is only one day's racing. The sole question is whether two afternoon* racing at Christchurch should be in the programme. I know nothing of hints |r* ii an alleged promise."
