Tile following telegram' has been received by the Prime Minister from Major Puttick," officer commanding the arnica force sent from New Zealand to Fiji in connection with the strike there: "The situation has considerably quietened since the ]3th, when a •wall riot occurred and was quelled by Ihe police and local forces. A few shots were fired in support of the police, who were attacked with sticks; 15 rioters were wounded, ! "The Indians are resuming work and I all is quiet in all the districts at present."
