TAX ON WAR FORTUNES.
PROFITABLE BRITISH SCHEME. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb. 22, 11.5 p.m. London, Feb. 20. The Daily Express states the Board of Inland Revenue has drawn up a scheme for taxing war fortunes, which are estimated to total £5,250,000,000. A sliding scale of taxation proposed would yield £1,000,000,000. The scheme includes drastic penalties for evasion, including imprisonment.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
