LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the North Taranaki Head Centre of the Pioyal Life-Saving Society was held last night, Mr. W. C. Wer.ton presiding. A cheque for £l'i was received from the Dominion executive, being the local centre's share of the Government subsidy. The following awards were notified:— Elementary Certificates.—Win. Penman, Carl, ffector and Kathleen Christiansen. Bronze Medallion. —Marjorie Sbidden, who also receives the Award of Merit, securing 85 points out of a possible of 110. It was decided that certificates, medallions and badges should be awarded this vear free of cost to the successful candidates. A motion of congratulation was passed to the Taranaki Postal District team on the success attained in the Rhodes Challenge Shield competition, securing second place. It was decided to approach the schools with a view to the formation of classes for instruction in life-saving. TABOP. Sliy-XD. The Tabor Shield competition' takes place at Waitara at l.:! 0 p.m. on Thursday of next week, and the following teams have entered: Waitara.--Messrs P.
