If Captain Frank Thurley, Government official photographer, accompanied Sir Ross Smith from Charlesville and secured a fine series of pictures. ,- . Speaking at the - dinner given by the Sun newspaper in honor of the aviators, Sir Ross Smith- paid a tribute to the work of the mechanics. Most of the credit for the success of the journey was due to them. Referring to the repairing of the machine at Charlesville, he said it proved that Australian mechanics could do as good work as anyone else. They were capable of turning oiit a com-! plete machine, and that was a big thing, because if Australia was faced with another war it must be remembered that aeroplanes would be necessary. SYDNEY TO LONDON. ' I _.' ' "A SIX DAYS' FLIGHT. Sydney, Feb. 18. Sir Ross* Smith, in an interview, stated that the flight from Sydney to London in the near future will he easily accomplished in six days' 'flying in daylight only, the passengers sleeping at the landing places. He suggested that the flight on the first day would be from Sydney to Darwin; on the second, Darwin to Singapore; the third, Singapore to Calcutta; the fourth, Calcutta to Bagdad; the fifth, Bagdad to Rome;'the sixth, Rome to London.
