CRICKET.

SATURDAY SENIOR COMPETITION.

The senior competition was continued on Saturday afternoon, two matches being played. New Plymouth B defeated Freezing Works at J'ukekura Park, and New Plymouth A defeated Old Boys at the Boys' High School grounds. The High School v. Tikorangi fixture Was not played owing to School not having yet resumed. The position now is that, in points Old Boys and New Plymouth A teams are equal. New Plymouth, however, has yet to meet Freezing Works on this round.

NEW PLYMOUTH A V. OLD BOYS.

There was a good deal of interest in the match between the above teams, Which was played on the Boys' High School grounds. Old Boys batted first, and were disposed of for 50. runs. Heskett was the most successful of the bowlers, securing 7 wickets for 9 runs. New Plymouth made 108 in their first attempt at the wickets, Saunders (28 not out) and Palmer (24) being the chief scorers. Osborne and Hughes did roost of the bowling for Old Boys. In their second attempt the latter team made 134 for 8 wickets, at which stage the innings was declared closed.
