SOUTH ISLAND MAILS DELAYED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Cliristclmreh, Last Night. .The ferry steamer Maori is'temporarily held up at Lyttelton. Steam could not be raised to-night on account of the poor quality of the coal, and eventually it was decided to recoal the vessel with another class of coal. This will entail considerable labor as seventy tons of coal have lo lie unloaded and reloaded, and it will be 3 a.m. or 4 am. before the steamer gets away for Wellington.
