ENTERTAINMENTS.
MITCHELL LEWIS IN "CODE OF THE YUKON." , To-night and to-morrow at Everybody's Mitchell Lewis, the star of Select Pictures Corporation, will appear in his first picture under that Company's direction, It is entitled ''Code of the Yukon," and is one of those virile Alaskan stories that fairly teem with strong interest from beginning to end. Air. Lewis will be remembered for his masterly characterisation of 'Poleon J)oret in the pieturisation of Rex Beach's "The Barrier." It is said that in "Code of the Yukon" he has a role, in appealing qualities, quite similar to his first great part. At any rate, suffice it that in the part of Jean Dubois, the miner, he creates a character distinctly human, and one which touches the heart string time and again. "(Side of the Yukon" shows tonight and at both sessions to-morrow. THE PEOPLE'S. LAST NIGHT OF "WAY OP THE STRONG." 1 The "Way of the Strong," a glorious Alaskan tale set amid the wastes of the North West, is probably the finest of this kind of film seen for many n dayAnna Q. Nilsson heads the cast, and is ably supported by a gifted troupe of artistes. The beautiful scenery of these Snow and pine-clad climes cannot fail to impress all with its solemn grandeur, while the incident with which the stirring play is filled provides a grip which seizes and maintains unabated interest. This fine film screens finally to-night. To-inorrow's new bill presents the very popular Ethel Clayton in "Maggie Pepper," a teeming play in which she shows what modern salesgirls have to put up with from smart mashers and how to handle these vultures. The bill includes gazettes and comedy, and the matinee to-morrow commences at 2 p.m. THE EMPIRE. RETURN VISIT OF THE "KIWIS" TO-MORROW.
