EGMONT A. & P. SHOW.
LATE ENTRIES ON' THURSDAY. Excellent entries in all classes have so-'far been received for the Egmont A. and P. Association's show, which is to be held on Wednesday ifcid Thursday, February 18th and 19th. The entries already exceed those of last year, and when the lnte entries close on Thursday night, which is absolutely the lost date at which they will be received, it is expected that a record will easily be constituted. The jumping events have all drawn well, and the policy of the Association in making a, special feature of the jumping (one event carrying 150 guineas) has been amply justified. Pips, which are usually a weak section, promise to be strongly represented. The thirteen cups and trophies, to be presented at the show are now on view in Purser and Sons' furniture warehouse, High Street, Hawora, and they make a very fine display. They comprise Tonks' Memorial Perpetual Challenge Cup (value , r >sgns.) for the fat sheep and freezing classes; the Bryco Rose Bowl (20gns.) for hunting competition; the Linn Cup (value Bgns) for best two Jersey females in milk; the Goodson Cup (value 6gns) for points prize in female Jerseys; the Nie-ol-on silver trophy (value lOgns) for pen of tiiree pure-bred Jersey females in milk; the Murray Roberts Cup (14gns.) points prize in pure-bred sheep classes; the Walker Nicholson Cup (value ligns.) for two best baconers; the Fletcher Cup (value sgns.) for three porkers suitable for freezing; the Sims, Cooper Cup (value agns.) for points prize in fat cattle; Bennett and Sutton's trophy (value sgns) for points prize in draught horse seciltons; .the Watt Cup (value sgns) points prize in pedigree Shorthorn cattle; the Middleton trophy (value sgns) for most points in animal classes; the Hawera Dairy Company's challenge eup (value j £5 ss) for pen of five hand-fed dairy heifer calves.
