• A FARMER DROWNED. Ey Telegraph.—Pres9 Association. Invereargill, Last NightWilliam J. Plunket, 4", a well-known fanner, was drowned in the Oreti River on Sunday while bathing. A companion endeavored to rescue him, but was dragged under the water. When the body was recovered, life wa-s exfinct. A month ago a child of the deceased was drowned in a sheep dip. A YOUNG GIRLS DEATH. ' Dunedin, Last Night. At an inquest, held this afternoon concerning the death of Agnes P ( enton Pope, 17 years of age, who had been suffering from ill health for some tine, and had not been attended by a medical man. a verdict, was returned as a result of ft post mortem examination, that death was due to acute purulent bronchitis, «nd haemorrhasio bronchial fineumoni»,
