A gay assemblage, including many women magnificently dressed and wearing valuable jewels, thronged a ballroom at Rubberlioz, where ten men in faultleas attire arrived at one o'clock in the morning. They received a hearty welcome, and entered into the spirit of the dance with great zest. Suddenly they drew revolvers, demanding valuables. All the exits in the meantime were guarded. A girl, using the back stairs, called the police, but the gang escaped with their booty, except two, who were arrested One woman values her fur cloak at £2OOO. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
