THE PRINCE OF WALES.

NEW PLYMOUTH VISIT LIKELY. STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER. Active steps to have New Plymouth included in the tour of the Prince of Wales have been made by Mr. 8- G. Smith, M.P., and there appears a good chance of his efforts being successful. Mr. Smith has received the following letter from the Prime Minister:— "In reply to your letter of the 30th ultimo with reference to the request llmt His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales should visit New Plymouth, I have nothing to add at the present time to the information which I gave His Worship the Mayor some weeks ago. I think the Prince will visit New Plymouth, but it las not been possible yet to obtain the opinion of his staff on the proposed itinerary."
