ASSAULT AND ROBBERY CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland.'Last Night. At the Supreme Court,"Charles Spittle and James Edward May were charged with assault and robbery. The jurt found May gurfty, but, was unable td agree regarding Spittle. 7 The Judge characterised May as a rer4 dangerous character—one of the worst he had seen for some time. On a charge of the theft of a.'portmanteau, of which he had been previously convicted, May was sentenced to two years' hard labor, and for assault and robbery to six years' hard labor, the sentence to be com current.
