LONDON MARKETS. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated January 31, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London :-r----"Wholesale price Imported beef reduced 2d per lb from February with corresponding reduction retailed price. Sales during this week Include fair spot, £55; high point, shipment to be in January or February or March, £53 10s; fair shipment to bo In January or February or March. £sl 10s. Present quotations are spot high point, £SB; fair, £66; shipment to be in January or February or March, £SB 10s, £sl 10s." WEST COAST RAM FAIR. Palmerston North, Feb. 2. The seventh annual West Coast ram fair opened at tho Palmerston North show grounds to-day, when Llncolns and Southdowns were offered. The attendance was small, and very few actual buyers were present. In stud Lincoins only two rams changed hands, one from the stud of W. Rnyner (Masterton) at 23cns., and one from the stud of D. W. Speedy (Kelvin Grove) at 20gns. None of the stud Southdowns reached the reserve. Stock Llncolns brought from 2gns to 6gns, but very few were sold. The Llncolns on the whole were not of extra good quality. The Southdowns were better, but met with little Inquiry. It Is expected that there will be a better demand for the Romneys, which will be offered to-morrow.
