DAMAGES AGAINST TRADE UNIONISTS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Feb. 1. The jury at Gloucester assizes awarded Howard, a demobilised soldier, damages amounting to £3OO against two trade union officials, who complained to Howard's employers, on his re-engage-mer.t after demobilisation, that he was promoted and classed as a skilled mechanic, whereas his workmates declared he was incapable. The employer, gave evidence, that Howard's work was satisfactory, but they transferred him to a iess remunerative work owing to the [union's threats ito strike.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
