At Waiuku there was a small yarding owing to the bad weather. Dairy cows and heifers £7 to £l4, empty cows and heifers £4 to £7, bulls £5 to £ll 7s (id, calves 12s to £1 10s, yearling to 18-mpnth steers £2 153 to £5, ditto heifers £2 5s to £4 10s, fat cows £9 to £l2 10s. Qa Wednesday at the Westfleld fat stock market beef was penned in less than average numbers. Choice oxen sold to £2 15s per 1001b, prime £2 lis to £2 14s per 1001b, rough and Inferior £2 5s to £2 10s per 1001b, cow and heifer beef sold at from £2 5s to £2 10s per 1001b; steers sold at from £lB (o £22 10s for best, others £lO 10s to £l7 10s, cows and heifers sold at from £8 to £l4 17s 6d. There was an average yarding of pigs, witli prices very firm at late improved values. STUD ROMNEY SHEEP. RECORD PRICES. What must he recorded as one of the most successful sales of stud Romnoy sheep (bred by Mr. E. Short) hold in Australasia has been concluded at Fellding. Sixty-nine 4-tooth ewes made lo 12gn9, 345 2-tooth owes to 26gns, 165 4-tooth maiden ewes to 9gns, 145 6-tooth ewes to IGgns, 320 4-yoar ew.s to lOgns. 201 5-year ewes to 6gns, 305 ewe laimbs to s%gns. 303 rnm lambs to s%gns, 82 2-tooth to aged rams made from 20gna to 30gns. The average of 58 2-tnnt.h rnmu was £75 10s each; of 20 mixed aged rams £O9 7s each; and of 15 top-priced rams £IOB each. One 5-yoar ram realised 220gns, which Is claimed a record for Australasia.
