TROUBLE AT FIJI.
A FEW TROOPS SENT. NO CAUSE FOR ALARM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, fcome alarm has been caused bvths imposition of cable censorship on ewtain news relating to Fiji, and the alarm lias led to the circulation of mischievous rumors.
One of them has been that there have oeen serious happenings at Samoa, but tftis is quite incorrect, and there ig do special cause for alarm about events at is a fitrike of Indian work* ers there, and this is a serious enouah matter for the industry of the stout), threatening, it may be, the peace aid order of the community. The New Zealand Government has been asked to take certain action, and it is in .reßpect of this action that cable censorship it operative. ■
Mr. Massey -said to-day: "There is nothing wrong at Samoa. So far at I know everything is all right and going on well. I should think that this rumor must have originated from the fact that , has 'become necessary for the New Zealand Government to send the Tutanekai to Fiji on account of the strike, there. This is being done simply as ft precautionary measure. A number of members of the New Zealand permanent force will travel by the steamer. There is no cause for alarm or panio or anything of that sort. We have been advised that we should do this and we are sending the ship. I hope that it may not be necessary for the men on board to land"
