WORLD'S SHIPBUILDING.
A BIG INCREASE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—«Mj>yi!sht, London, Jan. 26. Lloyd's Register, shows that the total output of the world's merchant shipbuilding during 1919 was 7,144,000 tons, an increase of 1,697,000 compared with 1918, and 3,811,000 compared) with 1913, which was a pre-war record year The figures for the war period show an output for the Allied and neutral countries as follows:—1914, 2,852,000 tons; 1915, 1,201,000 tons; 1916, 1,688,447,000 tons. n J h « Unit *d States contributed 4,085,000 tons ,t 0 the 1919 total of 7,144,000 i°£n™n a ? d the United Kingdom i,wu,Wo tons, which is still 311,000 tons below the 1913 record.
