ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT.
ESTIMATES FOR COMING YEAR. Estimates for the coming year for the New Plymouth Borough Electricity Department were before the Council last night. The receipts were set clown at £20,865, and the expenditure at £15,744, showing a credit balance of £5121. In the Tramways Department the receipts were estimated at £12,879 16s, and the expenditure £13,316 12s, showing a deficit of £436 10s. The bus working estimates were:—Receipts, £786; expenses £1004; a debit balance of £2lB. In the estimated expenditure on the bus service, an item of £IBO for electric current | caused some comment, several councillor t I considering it a high figure, especially as some private consumers were supplied I with current at a lower rate,
