MUTILATING A NEWSPAPER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court, Mr. Stout, S.M., inflicted the 'full penalty of £5 against Moses Ayrton, a defeated Labor candidate at the general election, for mutilating a paper in the Public Library on December 4th. The defendant was seen to take a clipping from the Grey River Argus, and the borough took proceedings under a by-law. ,
