THE DAVIS CUP.
SCENE OF NEXT YEAR'S MATCH. ANTHONY WILDING'S MEMORY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received Jan. 20, 7.40 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 26. In reference to Mr. Brookes' remarks regarding the venue of the Davis Cup, Mr. Colquhoun (President of the Association) says the agreement with New Zealand must be honored. We must be loyal to the Association rules. It was not often that he differed from his old friend, Mr. Brookes, but he did in this matter.
He added that it was partly due to the play of the late Anthony Vilding that Australasia had been able to retain the Cup in previous years, and it would ill become them to make any effort that would cause any disruption of the Australasian Tennis Association.
At a tennis dinner, Anthony Wilding's memory was honored in silence.r-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
