AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIA. ' MANY ARTICLES FOR BARTER. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, Received-Jan, 23, 10.45 p.m. Paris, Jan. 20. The vice-President of the Russian Cooperative Union, which negotiated the Russian trade agreement with the Supreme Council, explains that the agreement has no political character. The Union comprises twenty-five million members and operates over the whole of Bolshevik and non-Bolshevjk Russia. Us declared that Russia possessed record stocks of wheat, cereals, cattle and flax. She wanted agricultural implements, locomotives, clothes; shoes and medical supplies. The Allies must supply tonnage owing to the disappearance of Russian shipping.—Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn. HELP FOR PRISONERS. FOOD AND MEDICAL COMFORTS. Received Jan. 23, 9.5 p.m. Copenhagen, Jan. 20. Mr. O'Grady (a British M P. who is on a mission to Russia), in an interview in reference to the abolition of the blockade, said an agreement had been reached with Litvinoff in regard to sending British subjects in Russia certain supplies for their support. It had also been arranged for each ton of such supplies Russia should receive a ton of medical or other necessities.—Aus.-N Z. Cable Assn.
BRITAIN TO IMPORT BUTTER. Received Jan. 23, 9.30 p.m. London, Jan. 20. The Ministry of Food has arranged to import eight thousand tons of Russian butter, now coming via the Ivara Sea, in exchange for cotton piece goods. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. VAST STORES OF WHEAT.
