MINERS' THREAT TO STRIKE. By Telegraph.—Tress Assn.--Copyright. Received Jan. 21, 1.15 a.m. Capetown, Jan, 20. The miners at Johannesburg balloted strongly in favor of striking for consolidated pay as opposed to a war bonus offered by the Chamber. The coalminers' ballot resulted in a two-thirds majority in favor of a strike. There will probably be further negotiations before action is taken.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SHARE m GOLD PROFITS. Received Jan. 20, 8.25 p.m. Capetown, Jan. 19. The mineworkers of Johannesburg are demanding a proportionate share in the increased price of gold.
