CARE OF SOLDIERS' GRAVES.
INTENTIONS OF GOVERNMENT. The care of soldiers' graves in New Zealand is the subject of a letter received from the Minister for Defence, Sir .lames Allen, by Mrs. E. Nicol, honorary secretary of tha Soldiers' Mothers' League. The Minister expresses surprise at the statement that the last restingplaces of some soldiers have not received due attention, and he contrasts this regrettable fact with the care that the Wellington branch of the Women's National Reserve has bestowed upon similar graves in the Karori cemetery Sir James states that the Government intends to place a headstone of uniform design oyer the graves of all New Zealand soldiers, whether buried in or beyond the Dominion. The Government headquarters is awaiting a report on the subject from a committee of experts
