SHORTAGE OF COAL.
SEVERELY FELT IN AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Jan. 16. t nless more coal is forthcoming the tram and electric power services will, be heavily cut. They have only received one-third of the normal consumption. To-day ilie stores are depleted. Every effort, has been made to build up supplies without success. The small stock is daily diminishing. The restrictions may operate from Monday.
