COMMONWEALTH POLITICS.
RESIGNATION OF A MINISTER. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. 15, 10 u.m. Sydney, Jan. 15. Mr. Holman, in announcing Mr. Grahame's resignation, paid a high tribute on behalf of himself and his colleagues to Mr. Grahame's integrity and veracity In public questions. Mr. Holman added: "Suspicions were aroused against him, but those who know best know that such suspicions are groundless. Unfortunately suspicion cannot be allayed by legal proof, owing to Mr. Georgeson's illness, for many months, perhaps never. Under these circumstances it was better that Mr. Grahame should resign"
[A cable published yesterday stated: "Mr. Grahame, Minister for Agriculture and Administrator of the State Wheat Board, has tendered his resignation from the Ministry. The Executive Council has accepted his resignation. Prior to the appointment of the Wheat Commission, when the wheat question was under discussion, Mr. Grahame offered to resign, but the Government then declined to accept his resignation."]
