DEATH AT SEA.

FATALITY ON THE ROSAMOND, EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. An inquest concerning the death, of-ft seaman, William Hall, who died on tin Union Company's steamer Rosamond on Tuesday, whilst on the voyage from Wellington to New Plymouth, was held ' at the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon, before Mr. T. Witness gave deceased a gargle . pf vinegar and water, after which deceased appeared well again. At about i p.m., witness was informed by 0»e of the sailors that Hall Was dying. He went below and found Hall purple in the face, lying half out of his bunk. As be was removing him, deceased collapsed, And died immediately. Deceased was about 52 years of ago, and was a very stout man. He was an able-bodied seaman. Witness understood deceased had a wife living at Dunedin. When det ceased collapsed, witness administered first aid. John Bax, seaman, said deceased comr plained about a sore throat about a ,] »eek ago.
