A DISASTROUS FIRE.
TIMBER MILL DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A disastrous fire occurred at Heme Bay this afternoon, when a timber mill, owned by Cashmore Brothers, Ltd., was completely destroyed. The flames spread rapidly, and, hampered by the lack of water, the brigade had no hope of effecting a save. The estimated value of the mill and plant was between £4OOO and £SOOO, and timber stocks £4.000. The insurances are understood to be £6OOO. About forty men are temporarily out of work.
