ASSAULT ON A CONSTABLE.
CONSTABLE WROBLENSKI ATTACKED. ASSAILANT ARRESTED. An assault on a constable is an unusual occurrence in a peaceable community like New Plymouth, but gomething of that nature happened at an early hour last evening. It appears that Constable J. Wroblanski, in the course of his duties, was carrying out some inquiries in the vicinity of the gas works, when a man named Paul Zastrow, accosted him, for some unknown reason, and shook his fist menacingly in the constable's face. On being called upon to delist the man became more aggressive, with; the result that the two men came toj grips. Constable Wroblenski, however,) proved more than a match for his as-/ sailant, whom lie overcame and immediately arrested. The man was later on bailed out, and will appear in Court this morning.
