j CHRISTCKCJRCH MEN MEET. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. j A big meeting of tramway employees VTas held this morning, when the recent abortive conference in Wellington was exhaustively discussed. The tone of the business done was not disclosed, but speaking to a reporter at the close of the meeting, Mi'. Armstrong, secretary of the Union, said it consisted of a discussion on the steps the Union would have to take in the event of a satisfactory agreement not being arrived at in the near future with the employers. "What about the rumor that the men are going to strike?" asked a. reporter. "We have not even discussed that so far, and I would hardly say, as far as I am concerned at any rate, that is the |a3t thing we'want to be driven to," was Mr. Armstrong's reply.
