AMERICAN CHAMPION'S SUCCESS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. i, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 4. Special Interest was taken in the New South Wales 220 yards swimming championship, owing to Boss, an American champion, competing. The race resulted: Ross 1, Kirkjond % Longworth 3. Though he has not yet had time to strike full form, Boss won easily by three yards in 2.32 4-5. Klrliland beat Longworth by half a yard. The hundred yards back stroke championship of New South Wales was won by Beck In 1.16 4-5.
