RAILWAY OFFICERS.
DISSATISFACTION AT GREYMOUTH By Telegraph.—Press Assof'ation. Greymouth, Dec. 31. At a general meeting of the Grey branch of the New Zealand .Railway Oflicerß' Institute, resolutions were carried to the effect that the attention of the Minister be drawn to the fact that despite the expressed mandate of the Parliament for 1919 promotion by preference is being continued whereby many efficient and zealous officers have suffered grievous injustice, he be requested to cancel this classification and compile a fresh D 3 list. The meeting emphatically protests against the salaries and promotion of grade 8 being withheld for the simple reason that increments did not fall due on April 1. In some cases members have to wait as long as a year and 11 mnoths for their yearly increment. We hold that increases should fall due on the date they originally became due.
This meeting of the Greymouth members ol the Railway Officers' Institute have absolutely no confidence in the executive us at present constituted and call on members of the executive as a body to resign and that the constitution be altered so that the executive shall not be elected by delegates but by a ballot ot all members.
