CRIPPLED AUSTRIA.

IMMEDIATE HELP FROM ALLIES. By Teltgraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received January 1, 11.20 p.m. ( London, Dec. 30. The newspapers have again been calling attention to the appalling condition of Vienna. It is now announced that immediate steps are being taken in England, France and Italy to give relief, Italy sending grain, <ind England large consignments of fats and other foodstuffs. It is also announced that Czecho-Slo-vakia, Jugo-Slavia, and Poland shall release a large r.umber of railway trucks for Austrian use. The measures, however, are purely temporary, as it is felt that nothing permanent can be attempted till America falls into line with her Allies regarding their ex-enemies.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
