M. Marcel Hutin states that Allied representatives are proceeding to Dantzig and other ports to investigate the amount of material at Germany's disposal. The Couucil adopted the convention giving the mandates over German SouthWest Africa between Britain and Bel-gium.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE ADRIATIC PROBLEM. THE AMBITIONS OF ITALY. Received Dec. 28, 11.45 pm. Rome, Dee. 26. The newspaper Popolo Romano says that M. Clemenceau's speech implies that the peace of Europe depends on the settlement of the Adriatic problem. Therefore Italy must yield, but it is forgotten that the humiliation it is desired to inflict on Italy will not insure peace, but rather aggravate the dangers of the immediate future. Italy, who never renounced Trent or Trieste, will never renounce what she may lose to-day.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
