FIUME.
THE GOVERNMENT FIRM. D'ANNUNZIO FORCED TO LEAVE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 2S, 11.5 p.m. ' Rome, Dec. 25. An official communique states that the Government's proposals in connection with Fiume amounted to a command to D'Annunzio to evscuate.
There are conflicting reports regarding the situation at Fiume. One states that D'Annunzio, with a number of his supporters, including officers and Arditti, are prisoners. 'Major Jomman and Commander Rizzo favored the acceptance of the Government's proposal and handed their resignations to D'Annunzio. A destroyer from Zara on Tuesday delivered a communication pointing out the gravity of the. situation in Dalmatia and stating that D'Annunzio's landing could not be permitted.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
