THE HOLIDAYS.
FIXTURES AFFECTED BY WEATHER. Christchurch, Last Night. The morning promised line for the holiday, but about mid-day heavy rain commenced to fall and the weather is now cold and showery. Play in the New Zealand croquet championship and Plunket Shield cricket was abandoned pending improvement. Hokitika, Laat Night. The Westland races were postponed to Saturday and Monday owing to incessant rain. Oamaru, Last Night, Heavy rain began to fall shortly after eleven o'clock last night, and continued all day, spoiling all the Boxing Day fixtures.
