ALLIES' NOTE TO GERMANY. POSSIBLE REDUCTION OP DEMANDS By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 26, 7.30 p.m. Paris, Dec. 23. The Allied reply to the German Note of December 15 has been delivered, accompanied by a verbal statement that the Allies desire to take into account Germany's economic difficulties and reduce their demands if it is shown they have erred regarding the valuation of German harbor material. Von Levsher referred to the importance of tbe reply, and announced his departure for Berlin, with experts, in order to consult the Government.—Times Service.
GERMAN DELEGATION'S INTENTIONS. ' Received Dec. 26, 9 a.m. Paris. Dec. 23. The German Delegation has decided to reconsider its decision to return to Berlin, and intends to communicate by telegraph instead. Received Dec. 20, 12.25 p.m. Paris, Dec. 23. Von Lersner, after receiving the Allies' reply regarding Scapa Flow reparation, departed for Berlin for the purpose of receiving the Government's instructions. DELAY IN SIGNING PROTOCOL. Received Dec. 28, 12.30 p.m. Paris, Dec. 23. Von Leraner's necessity to obtain new instructions from his Government will probably delay the signing of the protocol until January. The Allies adhere to the dock tonnage demanded from Germany, but there is a loophole left for possible reductions.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
