THE ELECTIONS.
THE TARANAKI SEAT. The official recount in connection with the electoral poll in tlie Taranaki electorate was completed about mid-day on Wednesday, the result being that Mr. Smith's majority was increased to 1035. The votes for the candidates were: Smith 4280, Buckeridge 3255. There were 79 informal votes.
THE STRATFORD SEAT. The Hon. J. B. Hine has applied for a magisterial recount in connection with the Stratford election.
FINAL FIGURES.' Timaru, Last Night. The final figures for Timaru are: Craigie 4717, Vimiell 31SS, informal 163. Continuance 334.1, State control 355, prohibition 4241, informal 137. Invercargill, Last Night. The official election results are:— ffanan 4758, Archer 3355, informal 93. Restoration 3365, No-license 4409, Continuance 2896, State Control 674, Prohibition 431!). The official result for Wallace was:— Hamilton 2543, Thomson 2800. Oamaru, Last Night. The final couit was:—E. P. Lee (R.) 8819, J. A. MacPherson (L.) 3543, informal 53. No-License issue: Restoration 81S1, No-License 3959, National ContinuI ftnee 3030, State Control 354, National 1 Prohibition 3806.
