GENERAL ITEMS. By Telegraph.—Press Aasn.—Copyright. Washington, Dec. 20. Statistics show that the miners lost twelve million sterling in wages during the recent strike. The State Department has issued a copy of a British Note agreeing that American goods detained by the British in the early months of the war are now available to Americans who can prove their claims to ownership. Attorney-General Palmer's cost of living crusade has opened. Palmer warned the Mayors, the Prosecuting Attorney, that he will hang criminal profiteers as high as Haman. "Go after these devils; the country needs to quit fighting and get to work on maximum production." Palmer advocates that men wear old clothes until the present prices drop,—Reuter.
