WAITARA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) | December 20. The garden party organised by Mrs E. Jones in her grounds, which was held yesterday after being postponed from Thursday on account of the weather, was a huge success, and St. John's Church will benefit to a considerable extent by her efforts. The children had a most enjoyable afternoon, as there were ice cream and lollie stalls and other things which appeal to small folk. Mrs Jones is to be congratulated on a very successful function. A meeting of the Seaside Committee was held la*t night to further arrangements in connection with the picnic to be held at the beach on January 2nd. and should the weather be fine an cnj joyable afternoon's entertainment should be provided.
