DISTRICT NEWS.
TARIKI. (From A Correspondent). A most enjoyable dance was held in th<> public hall on Friday, 12th Inst., when ttu residents of this district gathered together, to bid farewell to two old and hlghl','.resected residents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Hanco 'k, who have sold their farm. The entertainment was In a dancing form, and was much enjoyed b.v young and old. The music, which was all that could be desired, was provided. by Miss Jones (Rugby road), extras being contributed by Misses Lai. Laurence and Eris Rudkln. also Misses Myrtle Hall and Gwen Therkleson. The MC.'s duties were well (ftrriefl out by Mr. ,C. Therkleson, and no one lacked part-1 ners, who wished to dance. Mr. Hucker, in making a presentation to the guests of the evening, remarked bow Mr, and Mrs. Hancock would be missed. "Fqr They nre Jolly Good Fellows" was sung, and Mr. Hancock suitably responded. Dancing went without a hitch until 1 o'clock. Two of our last boys to return, Privates A. Thompson and Ernie Eason, are shortly expected and we are looking forward to seeing them again and - wishing them all good luck and prosperity.
