MR. MASTERS' CANDIDATURE. • About SO or 60 electors met in the luk.ll at Toko Road on Monday evening to hear Mr. Masters gfve his views OB the political questions of the day. At the conclusion Mr. Donaldson moved ft vote of thanks and confidence in Mr. Masters as the future member of the district. Mr Marfell, in speaking to the resolution, stated that ho agreed with Jfrj Masters in his defence views.

Mr. Masters addressed two good meetings last night. The first was at Inglewood, where he received a very Attentive hearing, and was cheered at tie conclusion of his speech. Mr. Masters then went to Stratford and addressed a crowded meeting at the picture theatte. He spoke on the lines of previon* ad-, dresses, dealing with the leading political questions' of the day, and touching on local matters, and he was frequently cheered. In moving a motion of thauks and confidence, whiah was carried unanimously, Mr. Campbell Jackson said he had always voted for the' Reform Party, but on this occasion hei could not vote against a man like Mr. • Masters. Major Poley, a retimed Soldier, in seconding the motion, declafed that the returned soldiers had received - nothing to be thankful for from the Massey Government. About 50 or 60 electors net in the hall at Toko Road on Monday evenfeg *' < to hear Mr. Masters on the political' questions of the day. At the contusion Mr. Donaldson moved a vote of* thanks and confidence in Mr. Masters as the future member for the district. The motion was seconded and deolased carried.
