RED CROSS THEFTS.
AUSTRALIANS SENT TO GAOL. ■By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrigat. London, Dec. 14. Sergeant-Major W. E. Bradford was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment; Sergeant Simpcock and Corporal W. R. Grosvenor to three months; and Private Courtney was bound over for the theft of Red Cross stores. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [Sergt.-Major E. W. Bradford, Sergeant Simpcock, Corporal W. It. Grosvenor, and Private P. Courtney, all Australians, were charged at Lambeth (London) last month with being concerned in the theft of £1960 worth of Australian Red Cross stores. The prosecution alleged that Bradford incited Grosvenor, dispatch clerk, in conjunction with Simpcock and Courtney, who were in charge of lorries, to remove the goods to the premises of two men named Barfoot and Kellard, who were also charged. It is alleged that. Barfoot and Kellard, in two months, disposed of 5000 pairs of socks, 1000 shir-isi, 200 pyjamas and other goods belonging to the Australian Red Cross.]
