OPERATIONS AGAINST MAHSUDS. Bombay, Dec. 11. A message from Khirgi states that a column is now concentrated at Khirgi in view of tlie possible necessary operations against the Mahsuds. The situation remains one of considerable uncertainty owing to the tribesmen's noted predilection in favor of sudden and savage night attacks, and the possibility of their endeavouring thus to wreck vengeance for the air raids. Air operations were carried out over the upper Kaituwazir country, and the result being satisfactory, the chief, Hassankhel, surrendered. However, large gangs of Wazirs are reported to be out with the intention of attacking Thai. Other means will, however, be employed, of which more will be heard later.—Aus.-jSF.Z. Cable Assn.
