TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING.' The Taranaki Land Board met, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Present: Messrs. G. 11. Bullard (chairman), J. Heslop, C. Ryan, N. R, Cleland, and J. W. H. Martin. The application of J. Hutchinson for section 1, block 1, Waro Survey District, was approved. The question of license to J. O. McKoy of sections 9, 10 and 22, Tongaporutu, was held over for the ranger's report. The application of M. C. Andrew for lease of land fronting section 14, block VII., Waro, was approved: The following transfers were approved: Part section "S," New Plymouth, T. G. Sole to J. W. Hayden; part sections 1062, 1063, 1082 and 1083, New Plymouth, H. J. M. AVells to E. M. Ken'drick; section 2, block 1., Ohura, Howie and Brown to W. J. Aithinson; sections 3 and 4, block XIII., Waro, Payne and Moyea to W. H. Moves; section 5, block VI., Waro, A. E. floby to J. and F. Hagenson; section 34, block XIV,, Pouatu, F. M. Moss to A. N. Perry; sub. 1, section 11, block XI., Totoro, M. O'Hara to (!}., CI. D., and S. Morpeth; section 519 New Plymouth, A. Lomas to W. J. Simons.
The trnasfer of section 8, block XV, Upper Waitara, R. H. Phillips t.) R. V. and C. A. Simons, and of section 11, block 11., Aria, from I. A. Hataway to K. A. Johansen, were refused. The transfer of section 1, block XI., Tangitu, E. Maxwell to E. T. Bishop was deferred for a ranger's report. Three applications for transfer were forwarded to Wellington for consideration. Three mortgages were approved. The -valuation of sections 1 and 2, Mangamii Town Belt was received and recommended. Action re transfer from Charles Houslow and M. Riete to S. Sclraltz was left in the hands of the chairman. The transfer of part section 108, block 11., Ngaere, Moses Trotter td M. G. Trotter was approved. The transfer of section 2, block XIII., Ohura, D. McKenzie to W. S. Currie, was deferred, as also was that of section 19, block 111,, Ngaere, E. Linn to M. P. Skousgaard. In connection with applications by returned soldiers, 35 dealings re rural properties were recommended, 18 refused, and eleven deferred; twelve applications for town properties were recommended. two refused and three held over; two applications for town sections were approved; two mortgages were recommended, one refused, and one deferred; three applications for stock were recommended.
